Dressing Appropriately for Gardening

Gardening can be messy, with soil and creepy crawlies an occupational hazard. Dressing right for the job at hand is important. Everyone knows about wellies, gloves and wearing warm outerwear making sure you are weather-appropriate with your clothing. What a lot of people don’t give a thought to is their underwear.

This is particularly important to women, who should consider wearing high impact sports bras when working outside. They offer support and will move with you no matter what task you are currently undertaking. If you are mowing the lawn, bending down to weed, or lifting your arms for pruning trees and bushes, you want to be sure you are doing all of that in comfort.

Women know that underwires are uncomfortable, high impact sports bras don’t have underwires so there is no risk that they will break loose and dig into your skin in the most inopportune or potentially dangerous moments. They move with you while offering support where it is needed most.

Clothing that allows easy movement while gardening is important, and at the same time, it needs to be durable, particularly if you have a wide area of garden that has nettles or brambles, it is far too easy to get hurt if the clothing you choose isn’t up to the task at hand. If it is sunny, don’t forget your hat. The last thing you need is heat or sunstroke from spending time outside in the garden without protecting your head and neck.
